Project Overview
After the internal communication platform succeeded, the same client set out to turn it into a DX hub connecting multiple business applications. BCT designed and delivered a microservices platform that digitizes quality processes, improves information continuity across departments and provides a reusable foundation for future applications. It has been released to production and is now under maintenance.
The Challenge
Quality processes relied on paper, fax and manual coordination, so information was scattered across sites and departments. Many experienced frontline workers had varying digital skills, and the product vision was not yet defined when the project began.
- Clarify requirements step by step with the client and end user, validating assumptions with working software.
- Digitizing individual forms was not enough; identity, data ownership, workflow status and integration needed a common approach.
- Minimize changes to frontline routines and introduce new capabilities gradually.
- Keep quality records complete and traceable, with control over who creates, edits, reviews and approves them.
Our Solution
- Discovery & MVP (iterative): Stakeholder interviews, priority processes, early prototypes and feedback-driven refinement.
- Incremental delivery: Requirement refinement, design, development, testing, UAT support, release-readiness review and production release in planned increments.
- Shared platform and SSO: Identity, access control, security and integration separated from business functions, with single sign-on across connected apps.
- Quality data governance: Data ownership, mandatory-field validation, approval status, change traceability and consistent retention to support HACCP-related operations and audit readiness. The platform is not a HACCP certification and does not by itself guarantee compliance.
